Pim o’clock

Apart from indulging in shit puns I’ll also be showing you some of the amazing work by Pim Palsgraaf (see what I did there?…I’m here all week).

This is a series called Multiscape and it’s definitely one of my favourites.

Pim is fascinated by the effect of urbanisation on nature. With his work he seeks to portray this urban expansion as a kind of tumour. However rather than trying to make a statement about saving the world he has adopted an almost scientific interest in the way we build off nature and nature builds off us.

I think this series also has quite a Studio Ghibli vibe. If any of you are familiar with the Japanese animated films this work really reminds me of Howls Moving Castle or Laputa. I really want to be able to climb up inside the dilapidated buildings and explore. Beautiful.
